Getting Started with Helpurr

What devices/platforms is Helpurr available on?

Helpurr is currently available as a native mobile app for iOS (App Store). We are in active development for Android (Google Play): Join Helpurr's Android waitlist to get notified when it launches!

How do I take the best photo for an accurate analysis?

For the most accurate Helpurr result, ensure your cat faces the camera directly. The photo must clearly capture their eyes, ears, and whiskers. Avoid extreme close-ups or photos where the cat is sleeping or actively grooming/eating.

The Science Behind Helpurr

How do I check my cat's breathing rate at home?

With Helpurr, it's simple: aim your camera at your snoozing cat for 20 seconds and our AI will give you their breathing rate right away.

What is a normal cat breathing rate?

Normal resting breathing rate for cats is 15-30 breaths per minute (BPM). Helpurr monitors this in real-time and alerts you if readings are abnormal.

Does Helpurr work? How accurate is Helpurr's pain detection?

Helpurr uses our proprietary AI model, informed by veterinary research with references to clinically validated tool(s) used by veterinarians worldwide. Our AI continuously learns and improves, providing an objective, data-driven assessment of discomfort. The results are currently experimental under research preview and do not replace a veterinary diagnosis. Read our Research & References.

Is Helpurr a substitute for visiting a veterinarian?

No, Helpurr is a screening tool only. It helps you identify subtle signs of pain you might otherwise miss. Always consult your veterinarian for a professional diagnosis and treatment plan.

What should I do when the result is Medium?

A Medium result suggests your cat might be uncomfortable. Monitor closely for the next 12-24 hours (check appetite and activity) and consider seeking veterinary advice if the behavior continues.

What specific facial features does Helpurr analyze?

Helpurr's model highlights subtle signals in your cat's facial features: ears, eyes, muzzle, and whiskers. Veterinary research suggests these can provide important clues for pain cats try to hide.
